Tim Lincoln joined Lincoln Indicators in 1991. As an experienced IT executive, Tim’s vision was to commercialise Dr Merv Lincoln’s pioneering research methodology using fintech. He launched Stock Doctor in 1996, enabling private Australian investors to access quality stock market research, previously only available to big business.
In 1997, following the retirement of his father, Dr Merv Lincoln, Tim assumed the role of Managing Director. Today, Tim is recognised as a pioneer of the fintech industry. The Stock Doctor platform has since revolutionised DIY share market investing and has become a multi-million-dollar business, comprising over 4,500 private clients, while remaining true to Dr Lincoln’s vision and purpose.
Alongside his role as Managing Director, Tim is also the Chief Investment Officer for two of Australia’s top performing boutique managed funds; the Lincoln Australian Growth and Income Fund.
Tim holds a Diploma in Financial Markets from Financial Services Institute of Australasia (formerly Securities Institute of Australia), and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance, Australian Shareholders Association, Australian Institute of Credit Management, Risk Management Institute of Australasia and Securities Institute of Australia.
Elio plays an integral role in both business and product development, including the evolution and maintenance of the Stock Doctor platform.
With a research career spanning more than 15 years, Elio shares his deep investing and technical expertise with both staff and Stock Doctor members, providing pragmatic solutions to complex research matters in an easy to understand way.
Elio is the company’s key spokesman regularly presenting at industry events as well as appearing on TV and radio for the ABC and Your Money and is a regular contributor to the Australian Financial Review.
Elio holds a Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance) from RMIT, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. He is a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. He has also completed a Diploma in Technical Analysis and is qualified as a Certified Financial Technician.
Head of Research
Kien brings over 17 years’ experience in the investment field specifically with Australian equities research, investment strategy and portfolio construction through quantitative analytics. He leads and mentors the Stock Doctor Research Team, is a key contributor in evolving our research process and is responsible for stock selection for the Lincoln Managed Funds – one of Australia’s top performing boutique managed funds.
Prior to joining Lincoln, Kien was a Senior Quantitative Analyst at Patersons Securities. Prior to this, Kien held a number of senior analyst roles at Tolhurst Noall, Russell Investment Group and Willis Towers Watson, providing portfolio construction, investment strategies, quant modelling and risk management strategies to institutional clients including Telstra Super and UniSuper.
Kien holds a B.Com (Hons), Actuarial Science from Melbourne University.
